Japanese Rock Band One Eye Closed Join JPU Records and Release New Video 'N.C.H.'
We are proud to introduce the exciting new Japanese rock band One Eye Closed to our ranks!
In the blink of an eye, the Tokyo rockers have gone global. Their blinding debut EP Cain – self-released at the end of 2019 – not only saw the band gain attention from Japan's underground rock scene, but also from music fans around the world when when one if its tracks became the ending theme to a video game. EP track 'Low' features in 'Best of E3 2019' finalist No Straight Roads on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC (which also features JPU Records’ own guitar shredder; Midori of LOVEBITES on its soundtrack).
One Eye Closed continued the narrative flows set out in Cain with follow up EP Abel in the late summer of 2020, showcasing further the bilingual singing talents of REI, effortlessly able to mix soaring vocal hooks with rap and r'n'b influences; the mysterious and creative guitar prowess of 'none'; the energy of funky bass groover Yasu; and the dynamic power of Kay on drums.
Now, One Eye Closed take the next step and join the ranks of JPU Records, one of the leading international labels for Japanese rock, metal and pop, with exciting new single 'N.C.H.'.
"Hello from Tokyo, Japan! My name is REI and I'm the frontman, vocalist of One Eye Closed. If you've heard of us, thank you so much for the support! Chances are though, you haven’t heard of us, which is fine because we've been officially active as a band from the end of 2019. With that said, nice to meet you all! We in One Eye Closed are very honoured to have been given the chance to join the JPU Records artist roster.
"Our ultimate goal is to bring our music internationally and shed a new light on Japanese music to those who aren't familiar, and we feel that we can accomplish this with the support of JPU records, our current fans, and all of you J-rock listeners. Fortunately, we've received great feedback internationally on our song 'Low' off our first EP Cain, thanks to it being featured as the Ending theme song to video game No Straight Roads. But we won't stop there. With JPU Records, we will be releasing a new EP and singles off it, starting with our single 'N.C.H.'. Again, we are very honoured and thankful to be given the chance to join the JPU Records roster. We hope you give us a listen and help us grow. We look forward to meeting you all after this pandemic settles. Take care, everyone!"
