FIRST CONTACT Call Upon the Power of the Erde Princess in New Music Video

“This work tells the tale of a princess who prays for peace upon the Earth. The music video has been brought to life as a grand fantasy epic, filled with breathtaking scenery and an immersive world unlike any other.”

What better way to announce FIRST CONTACT’s brand new music video for ‘Erde Princess’ than with words from the project’s bassist, Sawa.

‘Erde Princess’ is taken from FIRST CONTACT’s second album EARTH NATION, available now outside Japan on CD and digital formats from JPU Records. As with the project’s previous videos, production was handled by project leader and visionary RYU of BLOOD STAIN CHILD fame. He also composed the track, wrote the lyrics, and even crafted the fantasy armour worn by his character in the video.

The music video stars vocalist MaoMao as the legendary Erde Princess, with RYU appearing as the lightsaber-wielding knight tasked with protecting her, while bassist Sawa (Aldious) takes on the role of a powerful mage offering magical support.

“This time, in addition to using VFX, we also used drones and filmed on location,” RYU comments. “By combining VFX with live-action footage, I believe we were able to recreate a fantasy world that feels realistic, while also expressing things that couldn’t be achieved through live-action alone. I hope you enjoy it!”

MaoMao adds, “The video features many different scenes, including grasslands, temples, and castles, and unbelievably, we even filmed on top of a cliff!! We were also very particular about the costumes, asking the designer to create something with a sacred image while also bringing out strong original elements unique to us. The result is a fantasy-filled music video packed with stunning visuals, so please be sure to check it out!”

Sawa concludes, “Following ‘Anthem Of The Earth’, we once again worked hard through long hours of location filming for this project! I hope you fully enjoy the beautiful visuals, the intense and majestic music, and the one-of-a-kind world we’ve created!!”
