Powerful Japanese Metal Queens Mary’s Blood to Release Self-titled Album
Japanese metal queens Mary's Blood will unleash their powerful self-titled album on CD internationally from 5 November 2021 through retail, and earlier when you order directly from JPU Records. The release marks the ninth anniversary of the current line-up of the band, who Japanese media dubbed “the most wanted girls band of the year” and as having an “unimaginable true metal sound”.
Helping Mary’s Blood explore the essence of HEAVY METAL deeper than ever before is top metal icon Yorimasa Hisatake. The producer and music personality has been responsible for cult metal phenomenon ANIMETAL (a band who reimagined classic anime songs as heavy metal bangers in the late 90s), and has worked with some of Japan’s biggest names in the genre, including Galneryus and Aldious.
Lead track “Starlight” was released on YouTube to a sea of international praise. The track, which features a quarter of its runtime taken up with epic guitar solos from guitarist SAKI, is the first taste of what to expect from the self-titled album. Mary’s Blood will include 11 fierce tracks composed by each member of the band, resulting in the diverse but distinctly “Mary’s Blood” sound that the quartet are famous for. This international release also boasts exclusive English lyric translations and transliterations within the packaging, allowing overseas fans to feel a closer connection to Mary’s Blood than ever before.
Mary’s Blood have supported the likes of Marty Friedman, DragonForce and Secret Sphere on tour, as well as headlined festivals at home and overseas. The band have gone on to sell out every headline show they’ve played since entering Japan’s official top ten album chart rankings in 2014 with their album Countdown to Evolution and have been listed in numerous “best bands from Japan” listings.
