Fresh from electrifying crowds at their first ever UK shows in Birmingham and London earlier this week, rising Japanese rock band WENDY unleash their brand new single “Rock my heart”. A long-time fan favourite from their live sets, the track was written by half-Japanese half-British frontman Skye at just 16 years old. Yet, it has never seen an official release until today.

“Rock my heart” was recorded during WENDY’s studio sessions with two-time Grammy Award winning producer Marc Whitmore, who connected with the band after Skye boldly sent him WENDY’s early demoes during the pandemic. Inspired by the raw, youthful rock and roll energy pulsing through every track, Whitmore signed on to record the band’s debut album “Don’t waste my YOUTH”. The record will finally be released digitally as a deluxe edition on 26 November, collecting all the songs captured during the Whitmore sessions for the very first time.

"All the songs were written and recorded during the making of the album, with some newly recorded and others kept exactly as they were three years ago when we recorded the album. We never expected these early tracks to see the light of day, so we’re thrilled to finally share the music from the very beginning of our journey. Hope you guys enjoy the album!"

'Rock my heart' has also been picked up by Spotify’s editorial playlist New Music Wednesday, which, along with an accompanying podcast, highlights the top new releases from Japan. It's also been added to Rock Strike Japan, a playlist for “J-Rock acts who have broken the boarder and are making global impact”, and Rock The World featuring cover stars YUNGBLUD and Aerosmith.

Adding even more momentum to WENDY’s breakthrough year, “Rock my heart” has been selected for Spotify’s New Music Wednesday editorial playlist, which spotlights the most important new releases from Japan each week, along with its accompanying podcast. The track also lands on Rock Strike Japan, celebrating J-Rock artists making a global impact.

With a roaring new single, a powerful UK debut, and a long-awaited album on the horizon, WENDY are stepping confidently into the international spotlight.
