Sumire Uesaka Releases LOVE CRAZY and Becomes First Voice Actress to Have A figma Figure
Acclaimed Japanese voice actress and singer Sumire Uesaka begins the year with two huge announcements set to rock the world of anime, music and Japanese hobby fans around the world.
First, Sumire Uesaka will enter the record books as the first ‘seiyuu’ (voice actor) to have their own figma figure. figma are articulated action figures produced by Max Factory and distributed by Good Smile Company, and they are very popular amongst collectors and fans of Japanese entertainment. Sumire Uesaka will join figma’s huge catalogue of official figure releases that include figures from the likes of the Zelda and Death Stranding franchises, to countless characters from anime and Japanese pop culture. This marks a huge step in Sumire Uesaka’s career and further demonstrates the impact she has had on Japanese pop culture as she enters into her tenth anniversary as a seiyuu artist.
Second, 5 January 2023 marks the release of the music video to the title track of the Sumire Uesaka’s 13th single LOVE CRAZY. The track, also available to download and stream now, features as the opening theme song to the anime Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro 2nd Attack which begins airing from 7 January 2023 and also stars Sumire Uesaka as the titular Miss Nagatoro. This follows Sumire Uesaka’s mega bit EASY LOVE, which was the theme to the anime’s first season and has been streamed over nine million times on Spotify alone.
Due to Sumire Uesaka’s popularity outside of Japan, LOVE CRAZY’s music video on YouTube includes official English, Spanish and Romaji translated subtitles. Combining the world view of Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro with a hard rock guitar sound and over 230 beats per minute, LOVE CRAZY’s video is a fast-paced rom-com romp that will no doubt please fans of anime and music from Japan.
The full release of Sumire Uesaka’s 13th single LOVE CRAZY will be released from 8 February and include six tracks.
