Japanese alternative idol group ASP has announced that it will kick off the group’s debut UK tour with a performance at Japan Matsuri in London on Sunday 21 September 2025. Taking place at Trafalgar Square, Japan Matsuri is the UK’s biggest annual festival of Japanese culture, attracting tens of thousands of people in the heart of the capital.

ASP will perform on the main stage from 3:15pm, and fans will have opportunities to meet the members throughout the day at JPU Records' booth, which will be located to the left of the stage, in the south east corner of Trafalgar Square.

The news follows ASP selling out the Manchester leg of their debut UK tour, which includes The Fleece in Bristol on the 22nd, The Kings Arms Theatre in Manchester on the 23rd and the finale at The Underworld in Camden, London on 25th September. The group's latest tongue-in-cheek single BA-BY (pronounced 'Barbie') is also out now, with the video below:

Previous guests of Japan Matsuri include Britain’s Got Talent finalist Tonikaku, Joji Hirota and the London Taiko Drummers, and Otsu Kagura Troupe, who presented their spectacular ancient Shinto performance of Iwami Kagura.

Showcasing Japanese culture in the UK, Japan Matsuri has attracted a loyal audience of Londoners, the Japanese community and other visitors, families and friends each year since 2009 (at Spitalfields in 2009 & 2010, at County Hall in 2011, and at Trafalgar Square since 2012) and has established itself as a symbol of the long-standing bonds (Kizuna 絆) between Japan and the UK.

The festival takes place from 10am – 8pm and is arranged by volunteers with the support of the Mayor of London, the Greater London Authority, Westminster Council, The Japan Association, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce, the Nippon Club, Japan Society, the Japan Foundation and the Embassy of Japan.
