Lonesome_Blue go Forth with FOURTH DIMENSION (+2)
Japanese all-female rock band Lonesome_Blue enter a new dimension with the arrival of fourth member Sally and their second full-length album FOURTH DIMENSION. The album will be released digitally worldwide on 26 August, while expanded international edition FOURTH DIMENSION (+2) is available to pre-order on CD from London-based JPU Records from today, complete with two bonus anime covers and an exclusive English lyric booklet.
Four is the magic number for Lonesome_Blue in 2026. FOURTH DIMENSION arrives in the band's fourth year, marks their fourth physical release, and welcomes guitarist Sally as their fourth member.
Her arrival completes a formidable combination of talent spanning Japan's rock, metal, anime and voice acting worlds. Vocalist Maiko Nomura and bassist/vocalist Yuki Hirose are established voice actresses who also perform together in Tokyo 7th Sisters rock unit The QUEEN of PURPLE, whose headline shows at Zepp Tokyo and Toyosu PIT sold out. MIZUKI is an accomplished session drummer and member of all-female rock band East Of Eden, while Sally is an official DEAN GUITARS JAPAN artist who released her self-written debut solo album BURN IT.
Together, the four push Lonesome_Blue's melodic rock and metal foundations into heavier, faster and more adventurous territory on FOURTH DIMENSION. Their sound retains a nostalgic love for the days when soaring melodies and guitar solos ruled supreme, while having enough freedom to venture beyond genre boundaries.
Lead track ‘EVERGLOW’ captures this new incarnation at full force, combining heroic melodies with MIZUKI's high-speed drumming, Nomura and Hirose's twin vocals and Sally's intertwining lead guitar.
Sally also puts her songwriting stamp on the album with fast-paced ‘Ideal Blue’, layering melancholic melodies over intricate backing and lead guitars. MIZUKI composes the bright yet heavy ‘Blue Canvas’, while ‘New Breed’ shifts from a dark, wah-driven opening into a furious two-beat charge complete with Sally's shred guitar. At the other end of the spectrum, ‘The Rose of Peace’ marks Lonesome_Blue's first straight-up power ballad.
Nomura, who spent her childhood in New York, draws upon her US hard rock roots for “Burn This Night”, writing and singing the entire track in English. Meanwhile, live favourites “Reason To Be” and “ALIVE!” receive their first official recordings, with the latter incorporating crowd chants captured at Lonesome_Blue's Asakusa show on 22 May.
For its international CD release, JPU Records takes the album one dimension further.
FOURTH DIMENSION (+2) adds two bonus tracks celebrating Lonesome_Blue's unique connection between anime and rock: TOM★CAT's 'TOUGH BOY', the opening theme to Fist of the North Star 2, and fripSide's “only my railgun”, the opening theme to A Certain Scientific Railgun.
'TOUGH BOY' also features guest appearances from guitarist ISAO, an avid Fist of the North Star fan, and his soLi bandmate Saori Hoshino on strings.
The international CD edition also includes an exclusive additional booklet featuring English lyric translations and romaji transliterations, alongside the original Japanese booklet.
FOURTH DIMENSION (+2) is available to pre-order now from JPU Records. FOURTH DIMENSION will be released digitally worldwide from 26 August 2026.
