Japan’s next generation of hybrid rock band, Lonesome_Blue, have revealed the full video of track ‘Body Rock’. The band, which features a mixture of anime and video game voice actress and rock musicians, also made its debut album Second To None available digitally ahead of three international physical editions due for release from 24 February 2023 courtesy of JPU Records.
‘Body Rock’ is the second track from Second To None to have a video released on YouTube and it has been directed and edited by koshikun, a video creator who has produced music videos and live videos for many artists in Japan. The video follows lead track ‘Face The Fear’, which has been watched closed to 400,000 times on the platform.
While the band have previously flirted with prog and rock sounds, ‘Body Rock’ sees the quartet push their exciting sound further by incorporating speedy rap verses from vocalist Maiko Nomura, who performs the whole song in English. The track also features fun and fast guitar riffs followed by an intense guitar solo, as one would expect from the band’s guitarist Narumi, who is one of Tower Records’ best-selling heavy rock / heavy metal artists in Japan. It also features a driving bassline and fierce percussion courtesy of Yuki Hirose and MIZUKI, who are no strangers to performing on some of Japan and Asia’s biggest stages.
Second To None will be released outside of Japan on CD courtesy of JPU Records. There will be three editions, all of which are available to preorder now. All three contain the album on CD with a 20-page booklet featuring the lyrics translated into English and transliterated in Romaji where applicable. Another edition features video on demand content with English subtitles that offers a behind the scenes glimpse into the making of music videos ‘Face The Fear’ and ‘Welcome to Heavenly Secret Base’. The final of the three editions includes the CD, the video on demand content as well as a limited edition t-shirt while stocks last.
