In celebration of their 20th anniversary, Japanese rock titans lynch. will unleash three CDs worth of material digitally from 30 April 2025, featuring re-recordings of their legendary early works and long-sought rarities.
The first two releases revisit lynch.’s iconic indie-era albums GREEDY DEAD SOULS and UNDERNEATH THE SKIN, completely re-recorded and revitalised with the intensity and technical mastery that only 20 years of evolution can deliver.
Completing the trilogy is newly compiled EP GOD ONLY KNOWS, named after a long-lost track reborn with new lyrics and title, alongside re-recordings of rare deep cuts that were previously only sold at live shows and have never been officially available for digital listening until now.
Brought to life with modern production and performed by the band’s current lineup, these recordings offer a powerful reflection of lynch.’s evolution, from underground insurgents to leaders of Japan’s heavy rock scene. This resurrected anthem from the shadows has been reborn with brand-new lyrics, a fresh title, and lynch.’s unmistakable fusion of crushing heaviness and raw emotion. Originally performed in 2008 but never recorded, this long-lost track has finally found its true form as the opening statement of lynch.’s 20th anniversary. And for the first time ever, vocalist Hazuki raps. It’s bold, brutal and beautifully lynch.
Latimeria (from GREEDY DEAD SOULS)
This dark, brooding underground classic makes its powerful return in 2025, re-recorded with all five members of lynch and transformed with two decades of growth and intensity. Driven by crisp rimshot drumming, subterranean basslines, and the twin-guitar clarity that defined their early sound, this reimagined version elevates the original to new emotional depths.
